People who want to achieve a stylish and clean look can use white furniture, according to one designer who said that his home provides inspiration for his work.
Ben de Lisi told the Observer that using furniture like
white sofas and
white bookcases has helped him to create a home which he spends a lot of time in and enjoys.
He told the newspaper: "I spend a lot of time here, as my studio is in the back garden. My house is the biggest inspiration for my work – everywhere I look there is something I've collected which I'm totally in love with."
The designer added that he has never had a TV in his living room, so instead he opts to put one in the bedroom because he finds it distracting and puts him off his sketches.
He also admits to using low-profile furniture so that the room appears to be as large as possible.
Black and white furniture is becoming en vogue again and can be used to create a Miami-style art deco look, according to the Daily Mail's Rachel Reilly.
