People thinking about investing in white furniture, like white sofas and white tables, could take inspiration from a Moroccan home which contains the pale pieces.

Apartment Therapy reviewed a home in Marrakech which it said keeps a toned down, simple look throughout which creates a laidback atmosphere.

It stated: "The house itself is simple, made of white walls and neutral tile floors, but the decor is rich and colourful, thanks to a collection of textiles that decorate the walls, floors, and furniture."

The website added that the white furniture is combined with African pieces, Moroccan accessories and modern American and European designs.

Another plus point to the home is the fact that most of the colour comes from the accessories which include floor to ceiling drapes and geometric wall hangings.

The Guardian recently reported on the home of designer Petra Boase, which it said was impressive because of its use of white furniture alongside stand-out pieces.
