A room which was transformed by an interior designer from a dark space into a light living room has used white furniture like
white sofas and tables throughout, according to one newspaper.
The Daily Telegraph invited readers to choose a room in their home to receive a makeover and then asked experts to comment on the results.
Lisa Turner, who received the makeover, said: "I love this – it fits my brief perfectly. It's bright and makes good use of the space. The round lights over the fireplace are something I would like to use."
Interior designer Kelly Hoppen added that she would have combined the white furniture with terracotta and cream coloured decor and accessories.
Another colour combination that works well is black with white furniture and the Guardian recently said that the collaboration is particularly popular with people looking to design a bedroom which is suited to a good night's sleep.
